About Me

here for you...

As a licensed clinical psychologist, I help teens, young adults, middle-aged adults, and older adults lead more fulfilling and meaningful lives. I obtained my Master's and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Xavier University, and completed a Fellowship in Clinical Psychology within the Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry.  In 2018, I gained recognition as a Health Service Psychologist in the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. I am fully licensed as a psychologist in Indiana, Virginia, Maryland, and New York. PSYPACT has granted me the authority to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology in all 40 participating PSYPACT states.

I have significant experience with comprehensive evaluations and therapy for individuals, families, and groups. Some of the many clinical services I offer include effective treatments for dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship problems, concentration difficulties, personality disorders, chronic pain, life transitions, grief and loss, and terminal illness.  Special clinical interests of mine include mindfulness, nutrition, emotional awareness, and coping strategies.

Although I have enjoyed assisting many people with self-exploration, gaining insight, and problem-solving day-to-day issues, I have also treated individuals suffering from the most severe mental illnesses including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and suicidal/self-harm behaviors associated with borderline personality disorder.  I believe that being a true practitioner of psychology means constantly finding balance between my commitment to serving our entire community and an awareness of the human limits of my clinical expertise.  However, I enjoy challenging myself and never shy away from a difficult case.

One of the things I like most about the therapeutic connection is that it is a special relationship, uniquely designed and tailored to be focused on you, the client.  Keeping that tenet in mind, I tend to take a more modern approach to the therapeutic relationship as compared to traditional psychiatry/psychology; if you express curiosity, I am very open to answering questions about who I am, my family, my interests, and my background.
